Montclair State University (MSU) has engaged JRS Architect, P. C. on several initiatives focusing on: • building standards for an Administration and classroom building. • a feasibility study and related schematic design for the Bursar’s Office, Financial Aid, Registrar and Student Center. • renovations of offices and classrooms for Facilities. MSU’s objectives included identifying reasonably priced finishes which were “warm” and durable. JRS approached these projects by working closely with MSU to understand their needs and use of the space to effectively conduct space planning and outline a plan that further integrated daily operations of the targeted departments. JRS’s Interior Design department selected finishes such as flooring, wall finishes and lighting. Renderings were used to show selected finishes implemented into the existing architecture. Schematic layouts were prepared and estimates were developed to determine construction costs. As part of the Standards program, JRS produced a 3D virtual tour of the proposed renovations showcasing the new finishes and demonstrating how it would “feel” to walk through the renovated spaces. In addition, a complete set of reference documentation outlining the specifications of the materials was compiled for MSU’s future reference.
